Welcome to the AESG Prep School, where I am honoured to lead a community dedicated to fostering the growth and development of our young learners.

At AESG Prep School, we challenge girls to think deeply, question boldly and achieve highly. Whether through enriched lessons, problem-solving tasks or leadership opportunities, we stretch each girl to reach her full potential in an inspiring and supportive environment.
Our brilliance with balance ethos ensures that alongside academic ambition, every pupil’s wellbeing is front and centre. We prioritise pastoral care, emotional literacy and positive relationships though our Girls on Board programme, helping girls to feel safe, valued and confident.
This balanced approach builds not only bright, capable learners, but also happy, grounded young people ready for Senior School and all of the amazing opportunities that lie ahead. We warmly invite you to come and visit us at AESG and see our happy and inspirational school.

Success For Life
We believe that success can be quantified in several ways and that children who can become happy, confident and independent pupils once they leave our care will far more likely achieve the success they strive for. As such, the pride we take in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for our girls through our excellent pastoral care is at the forefront of our minds. It is this duality of approach that allows our girls to succeed academically within a safe and supportive environment, enabling them to bask in the success of today while being prepared for what they may face tomorrow.

Our Curriculum
Our experienced staff are dedicated to providing a challenging and comprehensive curriculum that prepares the girls to excel academically. With small class sizes and personalised attention, our pupils have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, collaborate with their peers and receive individualised instruction that caters to their unique needs, interests and strengths.
Alongside daily teaching of Maths and English, the girls have access to a wide range of curriculum subjects from verbal reasoning to mindfulness. Due to our unique setting, the girls are taught a variety of weekly subjects by specialist Senior School staff: English, Maths, MFL, Computing, Music, DT, P.E and Drama alongside special educational sessions in other areas such as Science. Girls also have the opportunity to extend their interests in the arts with LAMDA and individual music lessons.
Pursuit of Academic Excellence

Our passionate educators are dedicated to cultivating critical thinkers, confident communicators, and independent learners.

Commonly Asked Questions
While a tour of the Prep School will provide you with the very best understanding of how we can benefit your daughter's education, we have added some commonly asked questions below:
AESG Prep School offers a balance of academic ambition and exceptional pastoral care. Our Brilliance with Balance ethos ensures girls develop as bright thinkers, confident communicators and happy, grounded young people. Specialist teaching, small class sizes and a nurturing environment make our Prep School an inspiring place to learn.
Pastoral care is at the heart of AESG Prep. Our dedicated staff are trained to support the emotional wellbeing of young children, with a strong focus on kindness, empathy, and positive relationships. Whether it’s a quiet moment in our welcoming wellbeing room, a chat with a trusted adult, or taking part in our Girls on Board programme, every girl knows she has someone to turn to. Our small class sizes and close-knit community means that no child is ever overlooked.
Yes. Pupils who are already part of our Prep School benefit from automatic entry into the Senior School.
For girls who join AESG during the Prep years (Years 3–6), we ask them to complete English and Maths assessments. If they pass these assessments then they can join The Prep School and benefit from the automatic entry. While we fully recognise that preparing for Senior School is a journey, these assessments help us understand each pupil’s current level and ensure that we can meet her academic needs. At this stage, we are looking for potential, not perfection, an indication that the girl will flourish with the support and challenge we provide.
Our aim is always to help every girl thrive, feel confident and achieve her best outcomes, and these assessments allow us to determine how we can best support her on that path.
At AESG Prep, we prepare girls for Senior School by focusing on both academic readiness and personal confidence. Our pupils leave Prep with strong foundations in core subjects, excellent study habits and the resilience they need for the next stage of their education. Specialist teaching, enrichment opportunities and leadership roles all help ensure a smooth and positive transition.
Importantly, we do not prioritise past papers, Verbal Reasoning or any single subject above others. Instead, we offer a balanced and enriching curriculum designed to support girls throughout their entire Senior School journey, not just to pass an exam. With no pressure building towards one day of results, our pupils can grow, learn and excel in a healthy, supportive environment.
One of the major benefits of being part of an all-through school is the girls’ regular access to Senior School subject specialists. Pupils are taught weekly by specialist teachers in English, Maths, MFL, Computing, Music, Drama, PE and DT, giving them high-quality, expert-led teaching from an early age.
This specialist input not only stretches and inspires the girls academically, but also supports a smooth transition to Senior School. By the time they move up, pupils already know many of the Senior School teachers who will continue to guide their learning, helping them feel confident, settled and ready for the next stage.
At AESG Prep, confidence and independence are developed through daily opportunities to speak, lead, perform and take responsibility. Our culture encourages every girl to believe in herself, try new things and feel proud of her achievements.
Performing arts plays a key role in building self-belief. Girls take part in an annual Speech Competition, delivering a two-minute speech to the whole Prep School—an experience that develops poise, clarity and courage. Pupils can also access LAMDA lessons, join drama clubs, and participate in productions that strengthen communication skills and stage confidence.
Leadership is woven into Prep life. Year 6 pupils lead the weekly assembly, handing out certificates, sharing announcements and celebrating birthdays. Throughout the school, girls take on roles of responsibility that help them develop independence and teamwork.
Every day, pupils engage in problem-solving tasks, collaborative learning and class presentations, all of which help build resilience and confidence in expressing themselves. From small classroom moments to whole-school events, AESG Prep nurtures self-assured, independent young people who are ready to embrace new challenges.
We place great importance on building strong, open and supportive partnerships with our families. Communication is regular, transparent and designed to help parents feel fully involved in their daughter’s education.
Parents have access to the Seesaw app, where teachers share photos, videos and updates from the classroom, allowing families to see their child’s learning and achievements in real time. Teachers also send home emails celebrating pupils’ successes, and parents are always welcome to contact staff with any questions or concerns.
Throughout the year, we provide a calendar of opportunities for parents to engage with school life. These include Parents’ Evenings, the Learning Exchange, where families come into school to look through their daughter’s books together, and special events such as our Christmas Craft Day. Regular progress reports, weekly newsletters, and ongoing teacher communication ensure that parents remain well informed and closely connected to their child’s journey at AESG Prep.
