Bright beginnings. Balanced days. Bold little learners.
Our nursery environment is carefully designed to feel like a second home — calm, inspiring, and full of opportunities to explore, play, and grow.
Indoors, you’ll find bright, welcoming spaces filled with natural light, soft textures, and thoughtfully chosen natural resources that invite curiosity and creativity. Every corner is designed with purpose, from cosy reading nooks to open-ended play areas, allowing children to feel safe, settled, and ready to learn.
We provide daily balance, which is facilitated by our environment. Girls in the Nursery and Pre-School enjoy daily access to nature-rich spaces where they can run, climb, dig, and discover. Whether it’s Forest School adventures, water play, or simply watching the seasons change, our outdoor learning is an essential part of every child’s day.
As part of a wider school community, our Nursery and Pre-School children also benefit from access to wider facilities including the Prep library, Prep Gym, dining areas, and specialist teaching spaces such as the Music Room and Drama Studio. These experiences provide children with the space and support to try new things, take safe risks, and grow in confidence, every single day.
Outdoor Environment
Our children enjoy the freedom to explore the outdoors all year round, with access to their very own garden, a physical play area, Forest School, and the school field. These spaces offer endless opportunities for movement, discovery, and joyful learning in the fresh air.
Outdoor adventures call for different clothing depending on the season, and we’ll always chat with you about what’s best to bring and when, so your little one is ready for every adventure, rain or shine.
Caring for our world
We’re proud to be an Eco School, recently awarded the Green Flag Award in recognition of our commitment to sustainability and environmental learning. From leading biodiversity projects to running recycling schemes and exploring environmental change, our children are actively involved in caring for the world around them.
This September, we’re excited to launch our brand-new Forest School, where Nursery and Pre-School children will enjoy weekly sessions with our dedicated Forest School teacher. These outdoor adventures offer rich opportunities for exploration, creativity, and connection with nature.
Our youngest learners continue this journey back in the classroom too, getting involved in projects that nurture curiosity about our planet and encourage thoughtful choices for a greener future.
Indoor Environment
Our indoor environment comprises of two large light, airy, open plan rooms, with specialist zones to ensure your daughter receives outstanding care and support while they learn and grow.
These areas include space for messy play and creative arts, a quiet and peaceful reading den, computer corner and imaginary play. As we are connected to the Alderley Edge School for Girls Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form, we benefit from using their specialist music rooms and PE/gym space and equipment.
Our expert team understand how to ensure your daughter will get the most out of her learning and development at her own individual pace. We understand how children learn and develop in a fun and exciting way, focusing on language, intellectual development and boosting their social skills to get ready for the next stages of their life in Prep School.
Messy play
In Nursery and Pre-School, we love to get stuck in! Whether it’s crafts, squishy sensory play or splashing in muddy puddles, our days are full of hands-on fun. While we do provide aprons, sometimes the mess finds its way through, or a child may choose not to wear one. When that happens, we gently encourage them to join in, knowing that these experiences are rich in opportunities for creativity, confidence and problem-solving.
