It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our wonderful school.
We are an academic and dynamic school which fosters the wellbeing of each individual within an exciting, happy and supportive environment. Girls at AESG achieve the highest academic standards, but we believe that an outstanding education is far more than simply the acquisition of examination results. Our dedicated staff are highly-qualified experts in the education of girls. They are extremely committed to inspire girls to aim high, achieve their full potential, whilst providing first class pastoral care and support.
We provide a challenging and stimulating learning environment and deliver an innovative and future-inspired curriculum embracing the use of technology, thus fostering intellectual curiosity, developing creativity and a passion for lifelong learning.
We firmly believe in educating the whole person and believe that learning takes place outside of the classroom as well as in lessons. At AESG we offer an extensive enrichment programme and we encourage girls to take advantage of the many opportunities on offer to them to develop leadership skills, foster collaboration and resourcefulness, grow in confidence and encourage resilience.
We are proud of our school and its Christian values, yet welcome girls of all faiths who share our values. We respect, celebrate and embrace diversity and equality of opportunity without prejudice. Our supportive, open and inviting environment enables girls to explore their spirituality, to encourage reflection, and develop a strong moral compass based on our Christian foundation and principles. Our school motto permeates all areas of school life:
Aspire not to have more, but to be more.
I am incredibly proud to be the Headmistress of this fantastic school. At AESG we value the importance of an all-girls’ education and the many benefits this brings. Girls flourish at AESG and leave as strong women ready to take their place in the 21st Century workplace as responsible, active and global citizens bringing about positive change for a more sustainable and equitable future.
I hope that our website gives you a glimpse of life at Alderley Edge School for Girls, but please do come and see us for yourselves – either at one of our open events or by making an individual appointment. We are incredibly proud of our school and I very much look forward to welcoming you.
