At Alderley Edge School for Girls, we believe girls flourish when they’re inspired—not pressured. That’s why our Senior School combines academic ambition with a nurturing, supportive environment where every girl is known, valued, and encouraged to reach her full potential. Our expert teachers understand how girls learn best, helping them grow in confidence, take ownership of their learning, and achieve their personal best.

Whether it’s stretching high achievers or helping others find their stride, our tailored approach delivers exceptional outcomes. We’re proud to be in the top 3% nationally for Value Added, with our pupils progressing to study everything from Medicine to Marine Biology at leading universities.
By fostering a genuine love of learning and encouraging girls to run their own race—without comparison—we create a culture where confidence and curiosity thrive. The result? Happy, well-balanced, high-achieving young women who know their worth and are ready to take on the world.
Our GCSE results put us in the top 3% of schools nationally for ‘value added’ meaning students routinely exceed expectations.

Learning is enhanced with the use of technology as pupils benefit from the use of a personal iPad, which is integrated into everyday teaching and learning.
Examination success is important, and an AESG education is much more than this. We aim to empower girls to flourish as strong, independent and successful young women who are equipped with the skills to communicate with confidence and take their place as responsible, active and global citizens bringing about positive change.
We identify skills through the use of the #BeMore Profile to guide the planning of the curriculum. The #BeMore profile identifies eight attributes that we seek to develop in our students;
- Resilience
- Responsibility
- Reflection
- Resourcefulness
- Collaboration
- Curiosity
- Creativity
