Senior School

Life in the Senior School is always exciting.

We are seeking to engage the girls in the pursuit of excellence across the board, both in the classroom and through an extensive range of extra-curricular activities.  Girls are encouraged to think for themselves, question and explore, always supported by their inspirational and committed teachers.
High levels of expectation are in evidence throughout the School; good discipline and behaviour are expected and achieved in class at all levels. The girls are helped where necessary through lunchtime workshops and extended through the Gifted and Talented programme to really show what they can achieve.  They are aspirational and positive in their approach to their studies and always committed to achieving the highest standards they can.

The Lower School consists of girls in Years 7 to 9 and is looked after by the Head of Lower School (Mrs Alison Baker) and her Assistant (Mrs Janey Barker).  This allows us the continuity of care throughout these three years.  All girls will follow a full and varied curriculum including a rich creative programme and the study of four languages in Year 7 and two in Years 8 and 9.  They will study a large number of subjects including separate Sciences from Year 7.

The key focus in Years 10 and 11, also known as Upper School, is to encourage academic achievement at GCSE level and the opening up of opportunity. During Year 11, guidance is given to each pupil individually on several occasions with regards to subject choices and A Level study.
