Reception
Situated next to our vibrant Nursery classes, our Reception class is for girls aged 4.
At Reception level, learning provides a balance of focused teaching and carefully guided play activities which encourages children to explore, investigate and consolidate their developing knowledge, skills and attitudes.
The areas of learning can be summarised as follows:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Creative development
- Physical development
We recognise the important role that parents have in children’s learning and development, and we not only value but encourage a positive partnership with you.
We are pleased to welcome you into school at the start of the day, as well as to the many special events throughout the school year, including all our assemblies, our Harvest Festival, Christmas Productions and “Open House“afternoons.
As a school, we recommended that pupils spend at least one term in our Nursery, prior to starting our Reception class in September. This enables them to become familiar with the school and makes the transition into full-time education easier.
An after school provision is available from 3.30 until 5.45pm for those who cannot make it to school for the end of the school day.
