Our youngest children learn best when they are actively involved – happily exploring and investigating the world around them, finding out how things work and manipulating objects.
It is this that underpins our approach to teaching and learning in the Early Years, often with an underlying theme. The children are learning about themselves as individuals, socialising and communicating with others and acquiring greater physical dexterity. These prime areas are the foundation of our curriculum for our very youngest children.
The specific areas of Literacy, Mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design, enable them to develop skills, understanding and interests that will be developed throughout their school years and in their lifetime.
As children begin Reception, greater emphasis is placed on the skills of reading and writing and developing mathematical understanding, whilst still maintaining lots of opportunities for active learning both indoors and outdoors.
Trips and visits into the wider community as well as welcoming visitors into Nursery, Pre-School and Reception provide many opportunities to enrich the learning experience for all the children in our care.
Observing the children in their work and play and providing a rich and stimulating environment ensures that we are able to support your daughter in her own individual ‘learning journey’ from the very start to ensure that she makes the best progress possible.
